This local group is made up of professionals from all walks of life, including lawyers, real estate agents, educators, and even bakers. But don't be fooled by their day jobs—these musicians are highly skilled and experienced. For example, Barbara Kennedy played the cello in the Oscar-winning documentary My Octopus Teacher, using her unique 223-year-old instrument.
Plus 1's founder, Larysa Botha, studied music at the St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia before immigrating to South Africa 25 years ago. She now works in education and recently earned her doctorate in business leadership from UNISA Business School.
