FNB Wines2Whales Plots a New Course for 2024
FNB Wines2Whales Plots a New Course for 2024 and the finish line is at Benguela Cove. The team behind the FNB Wines2Whales is busy planning this year's event, taking place in November. While winter storms lash the Cape, they're using the June rains to perfect the trails, promising an incredible ride across all three days of each event.
This year, there's a change of scenery. The team, led by Johan Kriegler, has chosen Benguela Cove as the new grand finale. Nestled on the Botriver Lagoon with vineyards overlooking the ocean, this stunning location offers an exciting final section.
"The last 20km will be all-new, magical, and scenic," promises Kriegler. This new route replaces the previous finish due to flood damage and ongoing roadworks. "We needed a new venue for logistical reasons, but we also wanted something fresh," he explains.
Kriegler emphasizes the team's commitment to creating a rewarding experience. "Even seasoned riders will be impressed by the new finish and final stage," he says.
