Our Story
Benguela Cove is a prestigious wine estate located on the coastline of Hermanus, South Africa, known for its award-winning wines and commitment to sustainability. The estate is the realisation of an entrepreneurial vision, built on a deep respect for winemaking traditions and innovation.
Entrepreneurial Vision and Family Legacy
Benguela Cove was founded by Penny Streeter OBE, an accomplished entrepreneur with a wealth of experience across multiple industries. Penny's vision for the estate was to create a world-class vineyard that produces exceptional wines while offering visitors an immersive experience in the beauty of South Africa’s Western Cape.
A key part of the estate’s story is the Streeter family’s personal connection to both South Africa and England. The swallow, a symbol of migration, represents the family’s journey between the two countries. This connection is not just a personal story but also a symbol of the family’s enduring commitment to the estate, reflecting their ongoing migration and the blending of cultures, values, and traditions between both lands.

Recognition and OBE Award
Penny Streeter's entrepreneurial achievements and contributions to both the wine industry and business at large have been recognised with an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). This prestigious award acknowledges her commitment to excellence, her innovative approach to business, and the positive impact she has made in the industries she is involved in.
The Future of Benguela Cove
