FNB Wines2Whales 2026

FNB Wines2Whales 2026: Accommodation & Things to Do at Benguela Cove

DISCOVER OUR VILLAS • BOOK YOUR TABLE • EXPERIENCE RESERVATIONS

FNB Wines2Whales finishes at our gates three times this November. The Chardonnay race runs 6-8 November, Pinotage 9-11 November, and Shiraz 13-15 November, and all three end their Stage 3 finish at Benguela Cove. Your villa is already here.

Hand your keys over at the start, ride the Overberg's trails, and find your Wines2Whales accommodation two minutes from the finish line. Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate, on the Bot River Lagoon near Hermanus, is the official finish venue for all three Wines2Whales 2026 editions, so recovery starts the moment you cross the line, not after a long drive home.

Things to do while you wait, and while you recover

Riders spend hours racing hard through the Overberg before the route brings them home to Benguela Cove. That leaves supporters and family two free days on the estate before the race even arrives, and gives riders a proper reason to stay once it does.

  • Wine tastings and cellar experiences with the tasting room team
  • Dining for every mood: Courtyard Eats for something casual, Moody Lagoon Restaurant for finish-day lunch (book ahead), Blackbeard's Diner for no-fuss meals, and picnic hampers you can pre-order for the lawn
  • Lady Bonnie lagoon cruise and a private vineyard safari, subject to availability. Southern right whales are still around Walker Bay in November, so both trips carry good odds of a sighting
  • Kids' activities: Pirate Adventure Golf, the splash pad, and giant courtyard games

Buy a bottle before you leave. The tasting room pours the same wines you'll drink at the finish-day lunch, and a case travels home better than a medal does.

FNB Wines2Whales 2026 Frequently asked questions

Where does FNB Wines2Whales 2026 finish?
Chardonnay, Pinotage and Shiraz each finish their Stage 3 race at Benguela Cove, and the estate hosts prize-giving around midday on the Sunday. Find out more about race details and enter here.

Do I need to book accommodation separately from my race entry?
Yes. Race entry doesn't cover accommodation for the night before Stage 1 or the night after Stage 3, so book your villa direct with Benguela Cove ahead of time. Email stay@benguelacove.co.za or call 087 357 0637 to book your Wines2Whales villa, and bring your race number for the discount.

Is November still whale season in Hermanus?
Yes. Southern right whales visit Walker Bay from around June through November, so a November booking still gives you solid odds of a sighting.
