Take home a custom-labelled bottle of your own blend 

Have you ever wondered how a winemaker creates a balanced wine from separate components? The Blending Table at Benguela Cove gives wine lovers the chance to find out through a practical wine blending experience in the estate’s cellar. 

Once a month, the winemaker welcomes a small group of 20 guests to taste, compare and blend wines from the current vintage. During the 2.5-hour session, you will work with four to six component wines. Tasting notes and precision pourers help you test different proportions as you create a blend that suits your palate. 

No previous blending experience is required. The winemaker guides the session and explains how each component contributes structure, aroma, acidity and flavour. You can adjust your blend at the table until you reach your preferred result.

The experience takes place at Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate in Walker Bay, Hermanus. Benguela Cove produces cool-climate wines and offers tastings, dining and other estate experiences in a setting overlooking the Bot River Lagoon.
