Our lagoon has been cut open to the sea. It has to be, every few years, or this estuary turns fresh and the forty-one species of fish that use it lose the one place they need. Three metres of water left in a matter of days.

One of our winemakers will walk it with you and show you what that means: the salt returning, the flats that were open water a month ago, the waders and terns that have arrived to work them, and what all of it does to vines farmed on the edge of a Ramsar-listed wetland.

Then a harvest table brunch with that same winemaker, working through the vintages.

An afternoon that runs into an evening on the Lagoon Lawns, with Walker Bay in front of you and the Kogelberg behind. A welcome Cap Classique, flowing MCC and white wines, grazing canapés through the afternoon, and a live oyster shucking station.
